We are excited to announce the launch of Super Sonic Design's YouTube channel! We will provide know-how to thrive as a small but global company, unique to a Creative x IT firm based in New York.
Today, we're introducing a free internal chat tool, RingCentral (formerly Glip)! It solves the problem of data history disappearing in the free version of Slack.
First, here’s an explanatory video.
At our company, we have adopted a group chat app called RingCentral, which is not very well-known.
The reason is that it’s free and doesn’t have the issue of history data disappearing like the free version of Slack. We searched extensively for the most usable chat app available for free, and we ended up with this RingCentral.

We have used Slack and Salesforce in the past, but when wanting to access better features or as the team size increased, it became necessary to switch to a paid plan. So, it was not a very user-friendly chat app when looking for a free option.
While Slack is a convenient app even in its free version, it has one significant drawback: the history data does not remain.
For companies that frequently use chat, data history disappears after a few months. There are often times when you want to revisit previous conversations while working, so this limitation is quite unfortunate.
That’s where we found RingCentral.
While it may not have unlimited data storage, it has been quite functional for our company. (We have about ten people using the internal chat, and everyone is using it for free.)
RingCentral is a unified application for business communication tools, offering services like voice calls, video conferencing, and chat. The voice calling and video conferencing features are paid, which is primarily how they generate revenue.
In Japan, services like LINE WORKS may be popular, but we highly recommend RingCentral as well! Why not give it a try?
